Why people add redirects in the first place

A sending domain that resolves to nothing looks unfinished. Prospects click the domain in your signature, a blank page or a parked page loads, and trust drops. So most setup guides tell you to redirect every sending domain to your main website. It is a reasonable instinct, and on a handful of domains it does little harm.

What goes wrong at fleet scale

A redirect is public. Anyone who loads the domain, including a mailbox provider or a blocklist crawler, can see exactly where it sends people. When fifty or five hundred domains all redirect to the same site, you have published a map of your whole infrastructure.

That matters for two reasons:

Blocklists look for the pattern. URI blocklists like SURBL check the domains that appear in and behind your emails. Many unrelated-looking domains funnelling into one site is exactly the kind of pattern that gets flagged.
One problem becomes every problem. If the fleet is visibly linked, a complaint spike or listing on one part of it can drag the rest down with it. The whole point of spreading volume across many domains is that they fail independently. A shared redirect undoes that.

This is why our own advice has always been to leave redirects off sending domains. Stealth Redirect is for clients who want their domains to show a real website anyway.

Do you need it?

If you are leaving your domains blank, no. That is still a safe default. Stealth Redirect is for anyone who would otherwise put a website redirect on their sending domains, which is most people who fill in the redirect field when they order.

It is also worth having if you run several domains per client or rotate infrastructure regularly. The more domains you have pointing at the same site, the clearer the pattern becomes.

Pricing and availability

Stealth Redirect will cost €1 per domain per billing cycle, added to your subscription for the domains on that order. For a 500 mailbox Azure order across 5 domains that is €5 a cycle.
